The writing tool was usually made of disposable material – reed or wood, so none remained to this day. It was only by studying of the slates that the assumptions were made that the tools must have been of triangular shape. Still, there are round characters on the slates as well, which represented numeric markings, so they must have been impressed with a differently shaped tool.
