INTRO

Finally, in November 2007, another flickering script by native designer has been released. Although devised seven years ago and developed a year later, after all the procedures raised out recently as new ITC Intro font at ITC front page.

It is introduced as “delicate sophisticated script so much alive as if one could almost imagine that the ink is still wet…

Intro is a study in contrasts. Its shapes and proportions are elegant and sophisticated, but there's nothing slick or buttoned-up about this lovely, energetic script. The face is based on humanistic cursive lettering, but the final characters are cleaner… The letters are slightly condensed, with a delicate hand-drawn quality and a hint of “attitude.” This is not a typeface that lies quietly on the paper. It has verve and movement, as if the brush that drew it was just lifted from the page.

Intro abounds with distinctive character shapes, from the unusual tail of the lowercase ‘q' to the baseline curve of the ‘l' to the idiosyncratic ‘g.' The dynamic and fluid capitals can also do double duty as initial letters. Combine them with an old style text face and the results will be striking…”

Along with the Latin set released by ITC, there is also an Intro Cyrillic set developed at the same time. Oblong attitude of Latin characters based on Rennaisance cursive forms transmited into Cyrillic face produces a special turn, and these two stand equaly making the spirit of this small family compact and whole.
