The two abecedaries are animated collections of images with each letter represented by a single animation, in two very different ways. While the first comprises the lot of subtle minimalist typographic études, the other uses glamorous illuminations from an ancient manuscript. Both animations are enriched with the appropriate music background. Though they are aimed at younger public, they make the genuin nicety for all the typographic gourmets.

The animations from this abecedary are developed from the initials and illuminations contained in the Missal of Rouen, manuscript from the fifteenth century preserved in the Rouen Municipal Library. It is beleived that this document, rich with grotesque illustrations on the borders, was illuminated by three or four distinct artists. This piece, developed in 2002 is work of Virgile Laguin who intended to present this valuable book to the youngest public in a playful way, by collaging some of numerous images. Apart from doing animation work, Laguin is also the author of several typefaces.
