Stjepan Fileki Born on May 8, 1928 in Zemun, Yugoslavia. Graduated from Academy of Applied Arts in Belgrade. Professor at the Faculy of Applied Arts in Belgrade (now retired). He lectured Calligraphy (history and practice), Theory of Form and Typography at art academies in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš, Priština and Sarajevo. Involved in book design (for national and foreign publishers), design of newspapers and magazines, stamps, banknotes, commercial and art graphic. He created letterforms for transfer system. Active in typeface design. Writes on Cyrillic, organizes presentations and exhibitions concerning with Cyrillic in country and abroad.
